Cimino & Associati Private Equity S.p.A. ("Cape") is a successful and growing private equity firm headquartered in Milan (Italy). It focuses mainly on advising buy-outs in small and medium size companies based in Northern Italy.
Cape was founded in 1999 by Simone Cimino.
Since its inception, Cape has carried out its activity in Milan, but also in Bologna, Verona, Padova, and, since 2003, in Reggio Emilia and Vicenza, thanks to local facilities provided by some of its investors. These offices play an important role not only as work bases, but more strategically in the sourcing of investments and gaining access to competitive local intelligence.
In addition to its local offices, Cape has also established business relationships with a number of local professional advisors based in Brescia, Modena and Cuneo.
From to 1999 to the end of 2003 Cape has played the role of advisor in 14 transactions, executed by 4 funds with a committed capital of € 54 million in total:

The companies, at the time of their acquisition, represented an aggregated enterprise value of about &euro 168 million. From 1999 to the end of 2006, the divestments advised Cape have generated an average gross return of 3,5 times invested capital, equal to an IRR of 64%.
Since 2007 Cape il a 51% shareholder of Cape Regione Siciliana SGR, the management company of a private equity fund currently being raised, that is exclusively dedicated to small and medium size successful companies in Sicily.
